Aston Rowant U13s News – 2017

Nail Biter Vs Thame Town

With a weakened side U13’s won the toss and elected to bat. Rory Francis and Jacob Eaton put on a patient 40 run partnership with sensible batting as U13’s managed a run total of 73.

Excellent tight bowling from Benedict Hamilton including a wicket with his first ball and 2 wickets from Liam Hester set upon the Thame batsman. Great fielding from the team ensured 2 runouts which put U13’s in with a chance of winning the game. Jules Hamlin took 2 quick wickets backed up by Sam Esrich, Joe Davies and Jacob Fendom. Thame required 6 off the last over with 1 wicket remaining. Jacob Fendom took the last wicket leaving Thame 5 runs short.

Many thanks To Lucas and his younger brother for stepping in at late notice, Aston Rowant cricketers of the future no doubt!

Aston Rowant U13’s beat MP Sports in emphatic style

The cold never detered the opening batsmen as openers Carrick Dunbar and Liam Hester put on a quick stand of 27 in 3 overs followed by a stand of 51 between Carrick and Rory Francis. Carrick retired on 30 and in came Benedict Hamilton who quickly scored retiring with 6 fours in his 33. Harvey Hylton and William Nichol then set up a big total of 159 in 20 overs.

MP Sports began there chase with Jacob Eaton and Holly Senior keeping the bowling tight. Everyone bowled 2 overs as it became apparent MP Sports were going to struggle to overhaul the runs.

A good start to the League campaign and excellently captained by Carrick.
